Weekly Exhibit

One of the exhibits that the museum owns relating to the 2022 temporary exhibition is the Bord Na Mona identification plate LM43. This was carried by the Andrew Barclay Sons & Co Ltd 0-4-0 well tank locomotive works No.2263 of 1949. One of three steam engines purchased by Bord Na Mona, it was sold in 1969 to the Talyllyn Railway, and the main items were used to construct TR locomotive No.7 Tom Rolt.

The photograph by Alan Chorlton shows the locomotive stood at Tywyn Wharf Station in July 1969, prior to being dismantled.
