On Coronation Day, 2nd June 1953, special tickets were issued for children to travel free on the Talyllyn Railway. An example is shown below. Talyllyn Railway locomotive no.4 hauled the trains carrying a Coronation headboard and bunting. On Friday 9th September, no.4 was re-united with the headboard, this time with black ribbons in memory of the Queen.
