The leaflet was produced by the Ffestiniog Railway as part of a volunteer recruitment campaign to encourage working parties needed to build the new line. The line was needed to divert the railway around Llyn Ystradau, which had been constructed on the old route to Blaenau. The construction of the ‘deviation’ took thirteen years from 1965 to 1978, with the final goal of Blaenau Ffestiniog in 1982.
