Gweld a gwneud | See and do

Dewch i ddarganfod byd y Rheilffyrdd Bach Cul drwy fideo, sain a thros 800 o eitemau, o locomotifau cyflawn i ddarnau llai o faint fel gwaith papur, cyfarpar signalau a thocynnau. Gydag yn agos i 90 o reilffyrdd yn cael eu cynrychioli yn ein casgliad, mae’n gofnod unigryw a chyflawn o 200 mlynedd o hanes y rheilffyrdd hyn.

Gallwch weld sut y trawsnewidiodd rheilffyrdd bach cul y diwydiant llechi yng Nghymru a sut y cawsant eu defnyddio yn ystod y Rhyfel Byd Cyntaf. Cewch ddysgu sut mae locomotif stêm yn gweithio, a chymryd yr awenau yng nghaban William Finlay. Ar y llawr uchaf, rhowch gynnig ar ein cwisiau, jig-sos ac arddangosfeydd rhyngweithiol.

Ar y llawr uchaf hefyd rydym ni wedi ail-greu’r stydi a ddefnyddiai’r Parchedig Wilbert Awdry, awdur cyfres llyfrau Tomos y Tanc a gwirfoddolwr ar Reilffordd Tal-y-llyn. Mae yma arteffactau o’i fywyd, a gallwch wrando ar Jonny Morris yn darllen rhai o’i straeon.

Mae’r amgueddfa’n cynnal arddangosfeydd cyfnewidiol ar y llawr uchaf a dangosir manylion yr arddangosfeydd cyfredol ac yn y gorffennol yma. Arddangosfeydd Dros Dro

Oherwydd maint y casgliad, dyw hi ddim yn bosib i ni arddangos pob eitem, yn enwedig y rhai llai o faint. Os ydych yn teithio cryn bellter ac yn dymuno gweld gwrthrych penodol, cysylltwch â ni i weld a yw ar gael. Gallwn drefnu gweld eitemau sydd yn y storfa os cawn ddigon o rybudd o flaen llaw.

Mae rhai o’n heitemau mwy o faint ar fenthyg i amgueddfeydd a rheilffyrdd eraill fel y gwelir isod.

Eich Taith trwy’r Casglaid

Discover the world of Narrow Gauge Railways through video, sound and over 800 items on display, from complete locomotives to smaller pieces such as paperwork, signalling equipment and tickets. With nearly 90 railways represented in our collection, it provides a unique and comprehensive record of the 200 year history of these railways.

See how narrow gauge railways transformed the Welsh slate industry and were used during World War 1. Learn how a steam locomotive works, and take the controls on the footplate of William Finlay. On the upper floor, try our quizzes, jigsaws and interactive displays.

Also on the upper floor is a re-creation of the study used by the Reverend Wilbert Awdry, the author of the Thomas the Tank Engine railway series books, who was a volunteer on the Talyllyn Railway. See artefacts from his life, and listen to some of his stories read by Jonny Morris.

The museum holds changing exhibitions on the upper floor and details of the current and past exhibitions are shown here. Temporary Exhibitions
