CYFLWYNIAD I ARDDANGOSFEYDD DROS DRO 2024 – “POBL Y TŶ HYN”
Mae’r Amgueddfa hon yn arddangos dros 800 o eitemau, o locomotifau cyflawn i ddarnau llai fel gwaith papur, offer rhoi signalau a thocynnau. Gyda bron i 90 o reilffyrdd yn cael eu cynrychioli yn ein casgliad, mae’n darparu cofnod unigryw a chynhwysfawr o hanes 200 mlynedd rheilffyrdd cul.
Ymhlith y casgliad eang hwn, mae nifer o bobl yn cael eu henwi. Mae hyn yn cynnwys dylunwyr ac adeiladwyr locomotifau; y bobl a roddodd eu henwau i injans; swyddogion rheilffyrdd y mae eu henwau’n ymddangos ar arwyddion a phosteri; perchnogion y chwareli a’r rhai a oedd yn gweithio iddynt. Mae’r Amgueddfa hefyd yn dathlu rhai o arloeswyr cadwraeth rheilffyrdd yma ar Reilffordd Talyllyn.
Mae’r arddangosfa dros dro 2024 hon yn adrodd straeon rhai yn unig o’r bobl sy’n gysylltiedig â’r arddangosion hyn.
AN INTRODUCTION TO THE TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS 2024 – “PEOPLE OF THIS HOUSE”
This Museum has over 800 items on display, from complete locomotives to smaller pieces such as paperwork, signalling equipment and tickets. With nearly 90 railways represented in our collection, it provides a unique and comprehensive record of the 200 year history of narrow gauge railways.
Among this wide collection, a number of people are named. This includes the designers and builders of locomotives; the people who gave their names to engines; the officers of railways whose name appears on signs and posters; the quarry owners and those who worked for them. The Museum also celebrates some of the pioneers of railway preservation here on the Talyllyn Railway.
This 2024 temporary exhibition tells the stories of just some of the people associated with these exhibits.
